HALF-WAY TREE MAY be the envy of other locations in terms of watching the Olympics, but the folks at Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB) were not to be outdone on Wednesday.

Staff, clients and even a few people who happened to be in the neighbourhood of the company's Haughton Terrace headquarters were able to watch Wednesday's hectic schedule. The open area close to the offices was adorned with black, green and gold, lounge seats and flat screens. Apart from the DJ, excited guests provided plenty of noise with their thunder sticks and clappers. In between races, they were singing and clapping to Jamaica 50 song On A Mission, while trying to predict the results and times of the upcoming events.

Noisy crowd

JMMB couldn't have picked a better day to open their tent as the noisy crowd saw the women's 200-metre final, the men's semi-finals in the same distance, and finals in the 110-metre hurdles and women's 400-metre hurdles final. Michelle Sinclair, JMMB's personal portfolio manager said the company wanted "to create memories" of the Olympics and Jamaica 50 and invited every one to "come on down and enjoy". The 'Olympic tent' was also in swing on yesterday.
