Defending champions St George's College and neighbours Kingston College will clash today in the 48th staging of the Roper Cup Football Festival, which will be held at Winchester Park on North Street.
The action is set to kick off at 11 a.m. when the Over-35 old boys meet for the Pancho Rankine Cup. St George's are the defending champions of the Pancho Rankine.
Roper Cup action will begin at 1 p.m. with the Under-35s from St George's and KC matching skills. The much-anticipated meeting between the present boys of both schools kicks off at 3:30p.m.
St George's defeated KC 1-0 last year to retain the Roper Cup, after their Under-35 side was beaten 1-0 by KC. KC old boy Gerry Murray will be honoured this year. The George Thompson trophy which also involves the Under-14 and Under-16 teams from both schools will be played at a later date.
