It appears that managing editor of The Gleaner Company, Jenni Campbell, will be elected unopposed to serve a second term as president of the Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) when members vote today.
Campbell is the only person, so far, to express an interest in leading the 69-year-old organisation even though challenges could come from any member in good financial standing during the annual general meeting which begins at 10 a.m.
"It has been an honour to serve as the president of the PAJ over the past two years and I am willing to continue to serve if given the opportunity," Campbell said late last week.
"It has been a challenging two years but it has been satisfying as I believe the present PAJ executive has added to the gains made by immediate past presidents Desmond Richards and Byron Buckley," added Campbell.
Other executive positions will also be up for grabs today as PAJ members elect the team to lead its affairs over the next two years.
Several senior media practitioners have indicated an interest in serving on the executive body.
