Review private driver's licence

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Recently, my husband and I decided that we would like to purchase a pickup, but soon he realised that I would not be able to drive it, as I only hold a private licence.

It is strange, as I am able to drive my SUV, even large ones like the Prado, Pajero and Fortuner, etc., without a general licence.

I think the private licence could be used for most vehicles other than trucks or buses. I would certainly appreciate a change in the system and that someone from the licensing authority review the current requirements, so that a private driver's licence can be used to operate a small pickup.
