Style moments with ... Kandi King

Published: Monday | September 10, 2012 Comments 0

The darling of the social pages, it cannot go unnoticed that Kandi King is a fashionista in her own right. With her impeccable style and her unwavering love for fashion, King, who works in the tourism sector, lives in two cities, racking up car miles between Montego Bay and Kingston, and that is when she isn't on a plane jet-setting somewhere. King tells Style Moments, "my style is a constant reflection of my mood. What I'm wearing on any day is based on how I wake up and how I'm feeling. I'd rather look overdressed than underdressed," she said. She continued, "I like to think of my style as cool and comfortable sticking to the things I know look good on my body and occasionally experimenting with new trends."

5 style essentials

1. An LBD

An LBD (little black dress) is a must-have for me. Sometimes, you just never know when you'll be invited to a formal affair, or last-minute dinner. It can be used for every kind of occasion: work, cocktails, parties, dates, funerals. Plus, you can dress it up or down depending on your accessories.

2. Pumps

Nothing can make a plain outfit pop like the perfect pair of pumps. Even a simple T-shirt and jeans combo can take on an entirely different look when a pair of heels is added. It changes my body stance a little bit, I feel more confident in them.

3. Sunglasses

We live in Jamaica, enough said!

4. A statement necklace

It's a great way to change up an outfit. Plus, nothing has a more dramatic effect than a statement neckpiece.

5. A bag that holds everything

I'm living in two cities right now, so I'm always on the go and travelling with one billion things. Nevertheless, having a bag that can hold everything is way more useful to me than a little one for a select few essentials. Sometimes I don't know what I'm going to need, so I just walk with everything! Works for me.
