My dears, if y'all missed the Today Show, aired on American Network NBC last Sunday, then you missed out on a fabulous treat that has the travel world and the world of tourism buzzing all over.
Luvs, in a mini feature dubbed 'Lester and Jenna Trace Their Jamaican Roots', Today Show hosts Lester Holt and Jenna Wolfe revealed their previously little known Jamaican roots in a beautifully presented piece in which he traced his roots to the family home in Manchester, where his grandmother was born and lived; and she revealed that she was actually born in Kingston, and right over there on Old Hope Road, no less, where as a child she and her family were neighbours to Bob Marley.
Dears, we are talking a beautiful story here, the kind that warm the cockles of the heart, and was a simply fabulous endorsement of Jamaica showcasing, as the piece did, their emotional connections to the island; as well as some of the natural beauty and attractions for which the island is famous and celebrated.
From Lime Cay to the Bob Marley Museum and on to Mystic Mountain, with second cousin to Lester, Scott Wilson, acting as 'tour guide' and Patois instructor, the feature was simply precious and made for not just fabulous TV but was also a fabulous endorsement of Brand Jamaica.
