'Flowers' for Melissa Cammock

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I had the opportunity over the past few months to speak with graduating students about their experience here at Northern Caribbean University (NCU).

What I found interesting was the kindness that many of the students in the counselling psychology programme experienced because of a Jamaican student, Ms Melissa Cammock.

The stories of her kindness, whether through emotional support or otherwise, ensured that some of the students in the programme stuck it out and completed their graduate studies.

It is interesting that one can see students each day, and they themselves may be going through their own battles but, like Melissa, continue to support others so that they, too, will be successful.

I believe in giving flowers while people are alive, and I would like to publicly commend this student for her wonderful support of overseas and local students.

May God continue to bless her as she progresses in life.
