Mark Chin has been named the new chairman of the United Bookmakers Association (UBA), replacing the former CEO of Track Price Plus, Xavier Chin.

The members of the UBA agreed unanimously to the appointment at a recent meeting. Chin is a successful businessman with extensive knowledge of the horse racing industry as a racehorse owner and bookmaker. He is an executive of Markham Betting.

His other business interests include construction, project management and development, as well as the manufacturing industry.

Over the years, Chin has developed a keen interest in the local horse racing industry and hopes to bring new and innovative ways to restore the sport of kings to its rightful place, as well as help to develop new streams of revenue for the bookmaking industry.
