Do you think there should be changes in how the Constituency Development Fund is being managed?

I think we've had enough of the old style politics. No more support for the wrong hands. Taxpayers' money must benefit the country.

Funds should be handled by local government or mayors and not be given to MPs for distribution.

Probably, because based on recent occurrences, there's still the need for more clarity on how the CDF must be distributed.

There should be changes in how any governmental funds are managed.

Do you think the police were excessive to have transported an entire Cornwall College class to the Montego Freeport Police Station as part of their investigation into the theft of a student's school bag?

Very good move! Many schoolboys are little thugs. Behaviour must be curbed early.

- Oneil Shabbat Shalom Hall

I don't think it was excessive, and the one admitting to STEALING should have been charged.

- Neil Electrician Rattray

When the police don't do their job, they get questioned; when they do their job, they getting questioned. If people want things to change, how about letting public servants do their jobs and stop questioning every move?

The school had a thief. and you don't know which one it was; round up everybody and use the process of elimination. The parents of the child whose bag was stolen would not want anything less, because books and supplies are costly, and money is not easy to come by.

- Michelle Graham Day

I don't blame them. Carry all of them, of course. Someone must talk, and if that is the way for them to talk, then do it.

- Damone Thomas

No, justice must be served at all cost. People need to think about other people's effort in acquiring their necessities.

- Rohan Curly P Thomas

This was no schoolboy prank, as The Gleaner's editorial was trying to suggest, as we all know JanSport bags are like nuggets of gold and get stolen every day. When the teacher asked, of course no one saw anything.

Even though no one left the class, searches proved futile because it could have easily been slipped through the window to an accomplice or hidden in small places within the classroom. So it was never found.

I'm sure, if they were rounded up and threatened with a summons, someone would have squealed. The other potential thief will think twice next time. Learn or leave.

Serve them right. Bend the tree from it young.

- Garfield Deslandes

Theft is a crime. Taking the entire class may prevent another crime by the student and deter any others from doing the same thing. Laziness to work and purchase their own is not acceptable anywhere.

- Kiva Jones

No, they did not. If this happened, each time 'trivial' crimes are committed [you had] best believe we wouldn't have so many thieves and murderers in our society today!

- Amandee Mendez

If a bag was stolen from a store by these very boys, the same action would have been taken. Taking the entire class might seem excessive and might be illegal, but I'm sure students knew the perpetrators and sat there silent.

Also, the perpetrator was so heartless; confessing would have spared his classmates the trouble. Hope they see that he doesn't care about their well-being. Such is the case in society. Oftentimes, criminals that don't care about citizens are protected by said citizens. At times, the criminals turn on them and inflict injuries and even take their lives.
