THE JAMAICA 50 Secretariat has said the One Million Pins initiative launched in June of this year is still fully operational and pins are available at retailers across the country.

It is hoped that during the month of October, which is observed as Heritage Month, Jamaicans will continue to show pride in their country and its rich heritage by wearing the Jamaica 50 Pin of Pride.

"As Heritage Month approaches, all Jamaicans are being encouraged to purchase a Pin of Pride and wear it proudly as a token of appreciation for the struggles and ultimate achievements of our national heroes and heroine, and those unsung heroes who have helped to shape the history and development of Jamaica," a statement from the Jamaica 50 Secretariat said on Tuesday.

The One Million Pins Initiative is a global movement created as part of the celebration of Jamaica's 50th year of political Independence, and it seeks to motivate all Jamaicans and friends of Jamaica living in the country and overseas to display their nationalism, love and support for Jamaica by wearing the official commemorative Jamaica 50 Pin of Pride.

For the location of Pin of Pride retailers, visit the website of the Jamaica 50 Secretariat at www.jamaica50.com or email Pin of Pride suppliers at cgwilliams@touchlinejamaica.com or ofrancis@adspecja.com
