THE EDITOR, Sir:
On my way to work on Monday, October 1, 2012, I listened to the radio as a presenter condemned the men who raped the eight-year-old girl, two teenagers and two other women. The presenter then proceeded to play a song by Jah Cure, and hailed him.
Further down the road, I bought The Gleaner, where the editorial page cartoon featured the Devil, who was offering eternal terror in Hell to a rapist. Flipping backward to Something Extra, there was a photograph of Jah Cure, who has been missing from the limelight, according to the caption.
It seems that some rapists have celebrity status. I wonder what is the status of their VICTIMS.
