Scotiabank has responded to the need for banking online and has included the e-Banking feature within its New Deposit Suite of banking products. The young, old and in-between will have access to e-Banking at either free of cost or at very affordable fees.

Those who choose the Electronic Access Account will enjoy the benefit of banking with unlimited electronic transactions using the phone, Internet and ATMs. Everyday Banking Accounts include the Electronic Access Account and the Total Access Account. The Total Access Account allows customers to use all banking channels, receive unlimited electronic transactions and five branch debit or cheque transactions for a monthly fee, while the Electronic Access Account is great for the tech-savvy person who prefers to do all their banking online.

Savings Accounts include Primary and Premium Savings Accounts. In both cases, all fees are waived when a minimum balance of $5,000 is maintained each month. Customers will be required to pay for transactions conducted in the savings account. The savings account pays attractive rates of interest and customers benefit from a bonus interest payment once they maintain their monthly savings goals. This is referred to as the Scotiabank Savings Rewards Plan.

Banking plans include the Primary Banking Plan and the Premium Banking Plan. Both allow five free branch debit or cheque transactions, unlimited transactions and receive a fee waiver (monthly) when the savings account balance is maintained at the minimum of $100,000 or $500,000, respectively.

Age-Based Accounts are the Junior Account for persons 17 years old and under and the Senior Account for persons 60 and over. These accounts receive four free ABM transactions, unlimited TeleScotia transactions and four free Scotiabank Point of Sale transactions monthly.

The Scotiabank Be Money Plan, designed for young people ages 18-25, includes the Scotiabank Be Money Everyday Banking Account and the Scotiabank Be Money Savings Account. These accounts encourage goal-oriented savings, reward a bonus when monthly savings targets are met, and receive a fee waiver if a minimum balance of $50,000 is maintained. Students who fall into this age group can receive a waiver once they present a full-time enrolment letter from an educational institution.

Specialty Accounts allow customers to manage their foreign currency needs while earning competitive rates of interest. Interest is earned on a minimum of €100, £100 USD/CAD$100. Fees are also waived on USD, CAD, GBP and EUR, when an account balance of a minimum of 100 units is maintained. Customers benefit from unlimited electronic transfers between Scotiabank accounts and can access their account free of cost using Internet and mobile banking channels. They will also receive one free transaction per US/CAD$500 or GBP/EUR300.
