FEELINGINTHESLIPS should make amends for his narrow defeat to FUNNY SIDE over 1820 metres on August 15 when he contests the fourth race for the Monica Todd Memorial Cup (claiming $180,000) over 2000 metres at Caymanas Park today.

Although yet to win in 10 attempts this season, the five-year-old gelding from the stables of Andrew McDonald is pitted against opposition he can manage and should make no mistake from the convenient mark of 53.0kg and Oneil Mullings aboard.

Since failing by a short head to catch FUNNY SIDE, FEELINGINTHESLIPS came back with a decent effort in defeat over 1400 metres on September 1 when finishing 51/4 lengths fourth to out-of-class GUAN YU.

The son of Crucial Trial out of the 1994 Oaks winner Habitual should welcome this milder pace and although he can expect stiff opposition from KEEPIN THE PROMISE, recent winner NAHIMA and down-in-class DIVINITY, who is struggling for form, the choice has to be FEELINGINTHESLIPS.

Meanwhile, MINISTEROFJUSTICE, who also went down fighting against SIR SOUTH in the Jockey Club Stakes last Wednesday, should go one better in the 3-y-o and up overnight allowance race over the straight-five course.

CAN MAKE AMENDS

The seven-year-old gelding ran a blinder in defeat after chasing and assuming the lead from ROLEX entering the straight in that 1400-metre contest. He was just run out of it by SIR SOUTH in the last 50 metres, but had then favourite THE GUV marginally behind in third.

With leading jockey Dane Nelson sticking with the ride, MINISTEROFJUSTICE can definitely make amends today.

For one, the seven-year-old horse by Royal Minister out of Sub Zero is the joint track record holder for the distance with MUSICAL MAESTRO since November, 2008 when clocking 56.1. It is interesting to note that MINISTEROFJUSTICE was ridden then by Nelson for trainer Michael McIntosh.

He ran a big race off the claim after moving to trainer Gary Subratie on September 15 and, with his well-being exposed, will not go down easily from the convenient mark of 52.0kg.

The sparingly raced American horse DOUBLE THE HONEY, with Shane Ellis riding for champion trainer Wayne DaCosta, could have a bit more class than rivals and having worked well for this his first race in six months, should prove the biggest danger to MINISTEROFJUSTICE.

Other firm fancies on the 10-race programme are PRINCE ROHAN to catch recent winner GHOST RAPPER in the second race, J.T. EXPRESS in the fifth, JUSTIN ON FIRE (6th), BRILLIANT LAD (7th) and HERBIOUS CORPUS in the closing Track Price Plus Dig Out Handicap.
