What do you think about Senator Floyd Morris' suggestion for remittances to be taxed?

Senator Floyd Morris should consider taxing more of his salary. We are the most taxed nation in the world. Be realistic!

- meSupaT

I'm not in support of it. The little money that the people are getting they want to tax, and 90 per cent of these people don't work.

- MurrayLive

NO! They need to find other means and ways to make extra money.

- CHOZZZEN

Remittances should not be taxed, because we're already burdened with taxes on food, light bill, etc.

- fergie_spuds

I think it's a good idea! The reality of the situation is that we all have to chip in, along with crime and corruption control.

- Mikeybrowndds

This move may deter persons from sending much-needed foreign currency to the island. It is a risky suggestion.

- JTCM1

Madness! How you're going to tax everything and then want to shorten the money that people get to help with their already-high expenses?

- roxiehart07

Well, it is not that simple to do. The elderly (many of whom depend on remittances as their only pension) and the disabled have to be protected.

- DMarcAnthony

Ridiculous idea. The money isn't primarily used for saving anyway. People use it to shop, which stimulates the economy.

- corvedacosta

People will start doing electronic deposits if that is the case. No way, Government, you're stretching too far now!
