THE GLEANER has featured this gully overrun with bushes in the past and the residents received promises that it would be fixed but, alas, the problem remains!
Last week, the resident invited our news team back to the area behind the Ministry of Education's headquarters in central Kingston, where they pointed out that the bushes and the stagnant water provide a breeding ground for mosquitoes, which were very much present during our news team's visit.
According to the residents, they have dipped into their pockets to pay persons to clean the gully, but that is just a short-term fix.
With the islandwide outbreak of dengue fever now being reported, this is an area which urgently needs fixing.
