West Indies start one-week training camp ahead of tour

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC):The West Indies team will begin a one-week preparatory camp here today ahead of the tour of Bangladesh, which starts early next month.

As has been the custom in recent years, the camp will be held at the well-appointed 3Ws Oval at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies.

A training session is set for today from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There will be a training match on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, starting at 10 a.m. with the close at 5 p.m.

A second training session is slated for Thursday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Friday is a rest day before the Darren Sammy-led squad leaves for Bangladesh on Saturday.

Squad: Darren Sammy (captain), Denesh Ramdin (vice-captain), Tino Best, Darren Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Narsingh Deonarine, Kirk Edwards, Assad Fudadin, Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Veerasammy Permaul, Kieran Powell, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Marlon Samuels.

Support staff: Ottis Gibson (coach), Toby Radford (assistant coach), Richie Richardson (team operations manager), C.J.
