It was on his birthday, July 7, 2012, that plumber and businessman Howard Picart finally said 'I do' to his love of more than 30 years, businesswoman Veron Robinson.

The two exchanged vows at the New Life Assembly of God church on Constant Spring Road.

From Seaview Road, Stony Hill in St Andrew, the two have been an item for the past 35 years. They met casually at a community event and their lives haven't been the same since.

In 2011, Howard felt it was time to do the 'right thing' and popped the question to Veron who gave a resounding 'Yes!'.

Their special ceremony was witnessed by about 250 of their closest friends and family, officiated by Reverend Douglas Robb.

After the ceremony and photos, the reception followed in an elegantly decorated garden area of their community.

The bride was a vision of elegance in her handmade pearl-white gown, while the groom wore a white suit with red vest complemented by his red and white Italian-designed footwear.

The toast and speeches made were filled with memories of the two over the years. The couple were very gracious and in great spirits at the end of their long-time-coming 'special day'.
