In its eighth staging, Restaurant Week gives a fresh, fabulous take on dining out. The Gleaner-sponsored, SSCO food event, for the first time, has introduced the concept of selecting food ambassadors to the dining experiece. Nine well-appointed ambassadors have been selected, and they have been dining at restaurants in the Epicurean and Delectable categories.
They are Oliver Samuels, Kerry-Ann Clarke, Bambino, Danielle Crosskill, Miss Kitty, Tessanne Chin, Omar Robinson, Dr Michael Abrahams, Fred Smith and Ann and Stephen Ueker.
The ambassadors were chosen from Kingston, Montego Bay and Negril based on their reputation and love of everything food.
Many of them have been making the rounds at some of the restaurants and sharing their experiences in the Food pages of The Gleaner.
But our ambassadors have also been treated to a number of special events, including a cocktail reception at the Spanish Court Hotel and a special wine seminar with Select Brands Debra Taylor.
Come November 9-17, the ambassadors will be out in full force and may turn up at the table next to you! Here are some highlights to show what they have been up to.
