Businesses need to lend a hand

THE EDITOR, Sir:

With the passage of Hurricane Sandy, much needs to be done by big organisations like the banks to partner with the Government in fixing and maintaining the roadways and other areas. The Government cannot do it alone.

A case in point is that strip of roadway by Scotiabank and National Commercial Bank in the Half-Way Tree area. Whenever there is a heavy downpour of rain, it is like a sea.

Each year, businesses boast of the big profits they make. They could go on a mission and help in the rebuilding of the country.
