Published: Saturday | November 3, 2012 Comments 0

JAMAICA CUSTOMS Department has delayed the implementation of increased rates for clearance of personal effects barrels. It says owing to the current hurricane restoration project, the new rates will now be implemented in early January 2013.

Persons clearing barrels will therefore continue to pay the existing rate of $5,000 per barrel until December 31, 2012.

The new rate of $6,500 will take effect on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.
