THE EDITOR, Sir:
I would like to say special 'big-up' to Sista P and the National Housing Trust (NHT). Low-income earners will be able to realise their lifelong dream of owning a piece of property on service lots at Perth Road in Mandeville, Manchester.
With Sista P's intervention, along with the NHT, 41 residents in and around Mandeville will someday be able to start building on their own land.
With the interest payback on loans between one and three per cent, we, the low-income earners, are very grateful for what the prime minister has done. Sista P has always defended the less privileged of this country. We are not poor, but are low-income earners with big dreams to see Jamaica grow in the years to come.
Sista P, you will be facing some short-pitched deliveries from the opposition bowlers over the next four years, but you and the NHT must continue your innings at the wicket. More than 41 families in the stands will continue to cheer for you both. I am sure that we, the people, in the stands are from both sides of the political fence.
