Right move to ban preaching on JUTC buses

Published: Wednesday | November 14, 2012 Comments 0

THE EDITOR, Sir:

The banning of preaching on Jamaica Urban Transit Company buses has been a long time in coming.

While not against the word of God or a particular denomination, it is quite disturbing and annoying to have persons jumping up and down in the buses and shouting at the top of their voices. Some even promote their narrow denominational beliefs throughout the journey. Christianity is not about denominationalism, but rather a relationship with Jesus, irrespective of where one worships.

These persons refuse to realise that their behaviour can affect the driver's concentration, but it can probably lead to accidents. This move is not to stifle the preachers but to protect people's lives.
