Wednesday night belonged to Lorna Myers, the head of one of Jamaica's most famous, and most patronised, business operations - the KFC chain.

Myers, the chair of Restaurants of Jamaica Limited, which holds the Jamaican franchises for Pizza Hut and KFC, was inducted into the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica Hall of Fame on Wednesday night.

She is the first woman to be given the honour, and the 20th addition to the pantheon of business giants.

Each year since 1992, the PSOJ pays tribute to one private-sector leader whose contributions to business and country span at least 25 years.

Myers, along with her late husband Anthony, founded and developed ROJ in 1975.

The induction was held at Wyndham Kingston hotel in New Kingston.
