DEPUTY COMMISSIONER of Police, Glenmore Hinds has said an additional 500 police personnel plus just over 200 graduates from the police academy will be patrolling the streets across Jamaica for this holiday season.

Speaking at a press conference at the Police Officers' Club in St Andrew on Wednesday, Hinds said they were taking the added precautionary measure in anticipation of increased commercial and social activities for the Christmas.

He said special emphasis would be placed on the bus parks and the commercial districts.

Hinds encouraged the public to take heed to the safety measures being put out by the police in the media, and also urged persons to report any suspicious activities.
