Three major Jamaican companies have announced plans to contribute to charity this Christmas. Digicel, Stewart's Automotive Group and GraceKennedy will be carrying out charitable events throughout the festive period in order to reach out to those most in need.
Digicel's initiative, called 'Share a Smile with Digicel this Christmas', will see 10 customers each week winning $1 million each, as well as $500,000 to be shared among loved ones. This notion of 'paying it forward' encourages the beneficiary of a good deed to do something good for someone else.
Annalise Harewood, Digicel's recharge manager, said: "As a Jamaican brand, we recognise that one of the deepest traditions of Christmas in Jamaica is the spirit of sharing and making others happy, and that is just what this promotion will do."
Over the Yuletide period Digicel, will be giving customers $1,500 call credit with their purchase of handsets in Digicel stores islandwide, as well as popping up in communities all across Jamaica with Christmas treats and roadshows.
The Grace and Staff Community Development Foundation will be carrying out Christmas outreach activities throughout December to reach those in poor communities who are vulnerable.
As well as giving out food and gifts at Wright's Basic School in St Catherine on December 7, the foundation will be visiting the communities of Craig Town, Majesty Gardens, Payne Avenue, Quarry Hill and Central Kingston, between December 11 and 18.

Your car will be serviced quickly and efficiently and it gives you an opportunity to show our youth they are not forgotten during the holidays."
