THE EDITOR, Sir:

With reference to The Gleaner's editorial of Thursday, November 22, 2012, which mentioned the commencement exercise for the north-south highway that is being developed and financed 100 per cent as an investment by China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC), I write to advise that the event is scheduled for Wednesday, December 5.

CHEC is pleased to have Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller heading the list of officials and guests who will share in the ceremony.

The company uses this opportunity to restate our commitment to assisting in the economic and social development of Jamaica and all the people of this beautiful country.
