The Gleaner-sponsored Jamaica Epicurean Escape (JEE), to be held at Richmond Estate in Priory St Ann on December 1 and 2 has brought together an interesting mix of sponsors. They are drawn from media to hotels, food distribution companies, fuel companies as well as event management and entertainment entities. The mix will create the rich tapestry that represents the JEE experience.

In the eclectic mix of sponsors is Island Voice Inc., a New York-based non-profit organisation that was founded by Bobby Digi, who is better known for his outstanding work in the field of entertainment and who has been responsible for the development of many Jamaican artistes. Digi is responsible for Patti Labelle's participation. The JEE is grateful to him for his part in placing its first event at the highest level," says event organiser Marcia McDonnough.

Of his partnership with JEE, Digi says, "After many years of visits to Jamaica and working with Marcia of Touchstone Productions, our shared vision of cultural exchange became a reality when she asked me to assist with the JEE. I later introduced Patti Labelle conversation and through hard work it came to fruition. Through Island Voice Inc., I became the North American representative for the JEE. I believe this will become an outstanding cultural exchange between the African, American and Caribbean heritage through food and music.

Labelle is excited to introduce her 'Lady Marmalade' line to Jamaica for the first time, and she is ecstatic to mix her passion for food and music all in one Jamaican dutch pot, Digi said further.

Bobby Digi is the CEO and founder of Island Voice Inc., a New York-based non-profit organisation that serves as a resource in promoting community development by facilitating solutions to effect positive and lasting change in the lives of its constituents. Through cultural exchange, economic empowerment, and youth advocacy, Island Voice Inc. is able to focus on the undeserved African, African-American and Caribbean communities.

Digi has been awarded the United Nations Excellence in Humanitarian Services Award, and has received numerous citations from state, city, and local elected officials for his active role in community empowerment.
