THE EDITOR, Sir:
Congratulations to Gordon Robinson on his article 'Lord, deliver us' (Gleaner, November 27, 2012). Mr Robinson should be careful how he calls upon the Lord, though, as most people will expect deliverance.
The author has been brutally frank, but many Jamaicans will not believe him. Not often does anyone write about Jamaica's problems with such clarity. Jamaica's pitfall is the buy-and-sell attitude. Imports continue apace. No one worries about the foreign exchange. We are on the cliff waiting for the 'autoclapse'.
Today, the foreign news media cover the Argentine bond default. Argentina is being sued in the New York courts. There doesn't seem to be any deliverance for them.
Keep trying, Mr Robinson. Someone may be listening.
