AUTHOR, PUBLISHER, economist and businessman Mark Ricketts will today have a reading and signing for his book, Jamaica Gold: Brilliance and Excellence, at the University Bookshop on campus at the University of the West Indies in Mona, St Andrew, at 1 p.m.

Expected to be an afternoon of showcasing brilliance and excellence, Ricketts will be joined by some of his super achievers mentioned in his book, among them Danny Williams, Professor Minerva Thame, Ruel Reid, Olympian Hansle Parchment, Dr Alfred Sangster, Dr Marcia Roye and Dr Michael Taylor.

"This book is about brilliance and excellence underscored by two global icons, Bob Marley and Usain Bolt," stated Ricketts.

"We are now the fastest runners on the planet and the book answers the question, 'Why do Jamaicans run so fast?'"

Jamaica Gold also highlights distinction in the fields of academics, business and public service.

There will also be a second reading and signing in collaboration with Sangster's Bookstore in the Sovereign Centre on Saturday at 2 p.m. Super achievers at that event will be Dr Paula Tennant, Shericka Williams, Anglican Bishop Dr Howard Gregory, Reid and Roye.
