THE EDITOR, Sir:
Esther Tyson's column 'Towards a gentler, more civil society', published in The Sunday Gleaner on December 2, 2012, deserves the highest praise. I congratulate you and The Sunday Gleaner for sharing these thoughts and insights with readers everywhere.
One sentence, however, stands out, which should be repeated in every newspaper, radio station and on billboards throughout the nation: "The foundation, the family, has to be fixed."
A very simple statement, but we will not make any meaningful improvements before we accomplish this task.
