Jamaica won't prosper if we steal from God

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Have we ever wondered why Jamaica is always indebted? We have churches at every corner, but do we adhere to the principles of the scriptures? It clearly states in Malachi 3:8-10 that man has robbed God in their tithes and offerings. He just asks for 10 per cent of our salaries.

If we can't commit ourselves to paying an honest tithe and offering, woe unto the Jamaican economy. How can we expect the heavens to open and pour us out blessings that were promised if we don't keep the commandments? God is a just God and He keeps His side of the bargain.

I implore all Jamaicans to help take us out of this poverty by abiding by the principles of the scripture and keep the secular laws as well as the spiritual ones. We will be a better nation. Out of many, one people.
