LIME Jamaica has appointed former marketing manager at Pepsi-Cola Jamaica, Carlo Redwood, as its head of marketing, effective November 26.

"Mr Redwood comes to LIME with more than 15 years of experience in sales and marketing and joins the brand at a time when it's being recognised even more for its value-based, historically low 'Talk EZ' call rates and attractive Lucky Number Christmas promotion," the company said in a release on Wednesday.

In his former role as marketing manager for Pepsi-Cola Jamaica, Redwood led the successful creation and execution of a number of campaigns, including Pepsi Bubbla, the Gatorade Bolt Campaign, as well as the recent launch of Ocean Spray Flavour Splash Cranberry Water.

"Carlo has a well-established reputation as a successful steward of global brands, and we are confident he is the right candidate for team LIME," the telecommunications outfit said.

"His specialist skills in marketing communications, combined with his wide-ranging experience, will provide the guidance we need as we continue to improve our understanding and interpretation of our customers' needs," LIME said.

"He will head an already energised and dynamic marketing team and will complement our drive toward delivering value to the Jamaican consumer," said Gary Sinclair, chief executive officer of LIME Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.

Redwood has worked in various senior positions at Red Stripe, including national sales manager, and executed a number of campaigns and sponsorship activities such as Live Red, Red Summer, Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest and Cricket World Cup.

In joining the LIME team, Redwood is making his first entry into the field of telecommunications, the company said.
