All the boxers are here. The overseas officials are here too. And all is now set for the J. Wray & Nephew Rumble on Jamrock at the National Sports Centre tomorrow.

The card is being promoted by SportsMax with the approval of the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the Jamaica Boxing Board of Control.

There will be five fights on the card, with the WBA featherweight title fight between Jamaica's Nicholas 'The Axeman' Walters and Colombia's Daulis Prescott being the feature attraction. The weigh-in and medical examinations will take place this afternoon at the Wyndham Kingston hotel, New Kingston, starting at 3 p.m. If either of the boxers in the title fight does not make the weight at the first try, he will have two hours to do so.

Walters arrived in Jamaica on Tuesday to great fanfare, had a lively workout at the Stanley Couch gym on Wednesday, under the watchful eyes of his coaches Celso Chavez and Job Walters. He shadow-boxed, skipped and did work with the boxing pads. The pad work was shared by the coaches, but that by his father, Job, was particularly delightful as Job added his usual histrionics.

FEELING GOOD

Walters said afterwards that he was "really feeling good" and his trainers confirmed that he will not be doing any more sparring.

"Our final session in Panama last Friday, when he boxed 12 rounds with three sparring partners, was it. We just have to keep him sharp and motivated now," said trainer Chavez after the workout.

Prescott, who came in late Wednesday night, had a light workout yesterday, and said that was his final training session.

"We are ready," he declared and then, with a smile, added: "I am sorry that I will be making the Jamaican boxing fans very unhappy on Saturday when I beat Nicholas."

The four female boxers have been proving to be a hit with Jamaican boxing fans, and super featherweight champion Kina Malpartida said she is thrilled to be in Jamaica, a country she has heard so much about and loves. She also revealed that she is a great fan of Bob Marley's music. Her challenger will be Stacey Reile from the United States and they will do battle over 10 rounds.

Rikardo Smith and Sakima Mullings will have a return encounter over eight rounds in the curtain-raiser that will have particular interest for Jamaican boxing fans.
