Press Association of Jamaica's National Journalism Awards 2012

Excellence in Journalism: Housing and Sustainable Development, sponsored by the National Housing Trust (NHT), went to 'Impact with Cliff Hughes' - Pedro Cays. Here, Nationwide's George Davis accepts the award on behalf of the team. The NHT's Hortense Rose makes the presentation.
The Morris Cargill Award For Opinion Journalism, sponsored by Supreme Ventures, was presented to The Gleaner's Gary Spaulding for a series of political/parliamentary commentaries which have lifted the debate on several issues of national concern. Supreme Ventures senior corporate communications officer, Carlene Edwards, presents the award.
The Best Entertainment Journalist (Print) award, sponsored by the PAJ, is presented to The Gleaner's Sadeke Brooks for the piece 'Dollars and Sense'. Veteran broadcaster and actress Leonie Forbes presents this award.
Best Entertainment Journalist (Electronic) is Irie FM's KíShema Francis for her work 'Vybz Kartel: Incarcerated but not Silent'. She is presented with it by veteran broadcaster and actress Leonie Forbes. The award was sponsored by the Press Association of Jamaica.
The Hector Bernard/Theodore Sealy Award For News (Print), sponsored by The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS), was presented to Ingrid Brown (left) of the Jamaica Observer for the series on child abuse. The award is presented by Ruthlyn Johnson, communications officer at the JPS.
