Twenty-two Hopefield Avenue has been the home of Rib, Rum and Roast for quite a while. But, for its final Christmas staging for the year, the event was moved from the smaller back lawn to the larger and more spacious front lawns for the very popular family foodie event. Patrons came out to enjoy the delectable offerings from chef Ike Francis and his team.
With big brand sponsors such as Copperwood Pork, CB Chicken and Fidelity Motors, the foodie fiesta menu boasted offerings such as fish in foil, roasted brisket, ribs of all kinds, grilled chicken marinara, pulled-pork sliders, chicken kebabs and delectable deserts from Marshmallows.
For this the 6th staging, the organiser decided to make it bigger than ever. According to the event's conceptualiser Ike Francis, "The crowd is growing and we are seeing a wider cross section of people. Even though it's a Friday, we managed to draw families as well as party patrons who might be leaving from here to head to a party."
Francis was very happy with the turnout, knowing that his event isn't a party. "I wanted a great family event at night because I'm a lover of alternative entertainment," he told Food.
