Rainforest Seafoods, in collaboration with National Continental Baking, will host a Christmas treat for children.

"It's our first year, but it's something we'd like to do quarterly, but not to this magnitude," said Rainforest Seafood's marketing manager, Roger Lyn.

"What we've done is come together in the interest of the Slipe Road community and more so, the children," said Lyn, speaking of the event slated for tomorrow.

Rainforest chose the Slipe Pen Road community as it surrounds their 57 1/2 to 67 1/2 Slipe Pen Road location. National Continental Baking also has a location on the same premises.

Dubbed Christmas Pickney Sinting, Lyn said the treat will be held in the parking lot, which has ample space, based on the completion of work done.

Filled with activities and foods to allow children to have a good time, Lyn explained that Santa Claus will be dropping by and handing out gift bags. Food treats will include sampling, hot dogs and snow cones.

"Pepsi is helping us with refreshments for the kids," Lyn said of the treat, which run from noon to 4 p.m. Christopher 'Johnny' Daley will host the event.

The festivities will begin with an outside broadcast with Derval Malcom of Power 106, from 10 a.m. to noon. The treat will follow.

Lyn expects approximately 1,200 children to attend.
