Saint International recently hosted its Colour Me High fashion soirée at The Devonshire and the red-carpet event had an impressive guest list of political, corporate and social luminaries who all turned out to help the agency celebrate its 12th anniversary.
Saint's leading man, Deiwght Peters, told Outlook that the celebration was not just about the agency reaching its 12th year, but milestones and achievements which have been realised over the years.
Also honoured at the celebration were 15 models who have been making a splash on the international scene, 12 of whom participated in the recent fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris.
"Saint International has definitely defined what the Jamaican aesthetic is in the international circuit. We have been celebrated for it. We are the only Caribbean agency to date that has appeared on V-Man magazine and V magazine, among the best agencies in the world. It says a lot for what we represent," a beaming Peters said.
He also noted that Saint International represents the highest number of working black models at a single agency.
"Nowhere else in the world will you find an agency that represents, say, 15-20 models that are currently working and are represented by the best agencies in market," the Saint CEO said.
Guests were fashionably attired, and once the official aspect of the event had been taken care of, they partied the night away while indulging in the succulent selections being offered by Jamaican ace chef Brian Lumley.
Saint International has not only been putting models on the international runway for 12 years, but has also been creating other opportunities for its models as well. Many of the agency's models have used their experience with the agency as a platform to segue into other fields of interest.
Saint stalwarts Casmar James, Dexter Pottinger and Franchester Christie are just a few who have channelled their modelling careers into successful stints in the media and fashion industry.
"I came to Kingston to pursue a career in media, and Saint provided a platform for me to do that. Upon winning Fashion Face of the Caribbean, the opportunity arose and I got full support from the agency to follow my dream of becoming a media personality," James shared.
