Head of the Police Traffic Division, Senior Superintendent Radcliffe Lewis, has announced that the Traffic Headquarters at Elletson Road in Kingston will be open to the public today to allow motorists to check on their tickets before they go to tax offices to make payment tomorrow morning.

"The Traffic Headquarters will open by 8 a.m Sunday until … ," said Lewis, while declining to give a closing time.

He said everything is being done to enable motorists to get the information needed to allow them to take advantage of the traffic-ticket amnesty which ends tomorrow.

Yesterday, there was chaos at some tax offices as motorists rushed to meet the deadline, particularly after Minister of National Security Peter Bunting announced that there would be no extension and "the full extent of the law will be applied to motorists at the end of the amnesty".
