Melton Williams of Power 106 has emerged the winner of the CTL Tipsters' competition in 2012 to capture the $80,000 prize donated by the promoting company.

Williams, who is popularly called 'Little Willie', totalled 301 winners to finish 12 clear of many-time champion Orville 'Clarkie' Clarke (Gleaner), who has secured $30,000 for second.

Clarke outfinished another former champion, Howard Abrahams (Irie FM) by two winners for second in a field of 16 media tipsters. Abrahams secured $20,000 for having finished third, while fourth was defending champion TVJ's Oral Anderson with 281 winners.

For the third consecutive year, there was no winner of the more lucrative wagering section. All 16 tipsters finished with a minus quantity, with Errol Dunn (The News) having the lowest, minus $7,100. As a result, the $120,000 prize money for this category has been carried over to yet another year.

Meanwhile, Jamaica Observer's Michael O'Connor won both bi-monthly prizes to pocket $40,000. He totalled 54 wins for the November/December dash, one ahead of Williams in that category, while he easily won the wagering section with plus $1,300.
