'Y' Speedos team in Florida for Davie Nadadores Invitational

An eight-member 'Y' Speedos Swim team is now in Florida to compete in the 2013 International Senior Davie Nadadores Invitational Long Course one-day meet at the Nova Southeastern University Aquatic Complex, Davie, Fort Lauderdale.

The swimmers are: Girls - Jada Newell, Leanne McMaster and Angara Sinclair. Boys - Sean-Douglas Gooden, Justin James, Nicolai Johnson, Chay Stewart and Sidrell Williams. The manager is 'Y' Speedos' first vice-president, Annette Francis Barnett .

Competition starts this morning and continues in the afternoon.

The International Senior Davie Nadadores Invitational Long Course is a recognised swim meet for senior swimmers with qualifying entry time standards similar to the Carifta level.

'Y' Speedos Swim Club are using the meet as part of their preparation for the upcoming Carifta Swimming & Water Polo Championships, which will be hosted by the Amateur Swimming Association of Jamaica, March 29-April 5 at the National Stadium Pool. The eight swimmers will use the meet as an opportunity to establish qualifying times for the Carifta championships.
