'Business as usual' isn't the answer

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Peter Espeut's article 'Maybe we just can't manage' (Gleaner, January 11, 2013) is the best commentary I have read on the present economic situation in Jamaica.

The analogy is right on point and should serve to open some eyes on the International Monetary Fund issue and whether it could really resolve the crisis if 'business as usual' is the mantra for the way forward.

I have maintained that Espeut is a first-class sociologist and that he should restrict his commentaries to social subjects and leave religion alone, as he does not really know Catholic doctrine.
