The Alliance Française de la Jamaïque has extended the deadline of the International Photography Competition 'Jobs of the World' from January 12 to Friday, January 18. The competition is organised by the Fondation Alliance Française, in partnership with the magazine Courrier International.

This competition is open to non-professional and semi-professional photographers and participation is free.

To enter, contestants submit two photos that show men and women in the great diversity of jobs around the world. Pictures should reflect the beauty as well as the difficulty of these jobs.

A local jury will select a winner whose work will then be submitted to the jury in Paris.

Interested persons should consult the competition rules and registration form on the website of the Alliance Française de la Jamaïque: www.alliancefrjm.org or contact the Alliance Française at alliancefr.jm@gmail.com or 978-6996.

The winner of the International Competition will win a week in Paris, airfare and accommodations paid and have his/her work exhibited in a gallery there.

Last year's competition saw over 80 countries represented. Jamaican contestant Luca Khouri placed in the top 20. His work, and that of the other top participants, was on exhibition in a gallery in Paris and is presently travelling the world through the Alliance Française network.
