HELLO MI neighbour! Deal or no deal, I strongly believe that without much haggling each of us (at the individual level) can experience a very bright 2013 - no 'hairy fairy' business.
Despite our present circumstances, dreams can come true. Standards of living can improve. Life can be less stressful and more meaningful.
As your neighbour, permit me to share with you some thoughts towards this end. It's all about attitudes and expectations.
Successful people will tell you that success begins by asking questions like: why am I here? Where am I going? How will I get there? Am I aware of my real purpose?
Those introspective questions could be followed by others such as: who is responsible for my present status? Is it the government? Could it be some relative, stranger or friend? Could it be my employer, co-workers or that cruel boss who constantly blocks my promotion?
If it's none of the above, you may want to ask some other critical questions as you examine your life going into the new year.
Whatever your findings, know that you have it within you to succeed, and enjoy the quality of life you desire.
Nothing can stand in the way of someone who truly desires to succeed. He or she will not settle for a 'no' where a 'yes' is needed to advance a good cause.
In spite of challenges, this person will not relent until a solution is found. So, cut the excuses! There's no need to lust after or covet what other people have acquired through sweat and tears. You too have sweat glands ... . Just remember that there is a ladder of success provided for each of us by our Maker. Finding and climbing to the top of this ladder bring abundant joy and satisfaction
How many times have you heard that with a dream/goal, a good plan, ambition, determination and faith the sky is the limit? Put it to the test!
Start by documenting goals. It could be to: increase your spending power, invent something, create employment, get baptised, start eating right, upgrade or get a skill. Whatever your goal, ensure that it's achievable and measurable.
Establish steps for the fulfilment of this goal. Don't try to take on too many things all at once. This can lead to confusion, frustration and failure. Surround yourself with ambitious people who will help you stick to the process.
Here are some useful thoughts that can help you on your road to success, which someone sent to me recently:
One tree can start a forest,
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal,
One vote can change a nation,
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom,
One step starts long journeys,
One hope will raise our spirits,
One life can make a difference.
We may become famous by creating problems but we become appreciated by solving them.
The world is not looking for people who are strong, it is looking for people who are reliable.
