Saint searches for new faces in Negril

After the 2012 blockbuster performance of its many models on the international fashion scene, Saint International models are now in demand around the world.

And so this Saturday, the agency heads into the tourist mecca of Negril, searching for the next supermodel. The search will be staged at the Travellers Beach Resort, Norman Manley Boulevard, at 1 p.m. Entrants - male and female - should be between the ages of 13 and 25.

Scorching the catwalks in New York, London, Milan and Paris and appearing on the pages of the world's leading fashion publications is the dream to which many young Jamaicans aspire.

Saint models flew the Jamaican flag high - appearing for leading clients such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Zegna, Missoni, John Galliano, Italian Vogue, and French Marie Claire.

"To make this dream a reality, the right connections are important and so a young model potential must get access to the right agency that will craft a winning strategy and who will nurture a healthy, productive, mutually respectful and successful career for them," CEO of Saint International, Deiwght Peters, outlined.

Successful candidates for the search will be automatic semi-finalists in the 2013 staging of Saint's Fashionface of the Caribbean contest. They will undergo an intensive six-week training programme, done by the Saint Lifestyle Grooming Institute.

Elements to be covered include understanding the business of high fashion, runway walking, client relationships (the rules to win among clients), and other social activation skills.

Peters is quick to highlight that the industry demands professionalism and sophistication.

"It's an industry where hard work and dedication are hallmarks of any successful career," said Peters.

He stressed that many young aspirants believe it's a free vacation and ignore the important details that can ensure a successful career.

Saint International is the only Caribbean-based model agency featured in the prestigious V-Magazine and V-Man Magazine, the publications referring to the agency as among the best in the world.

The agency has been operating for almost 12 years and has continuously made its mark in terms of placing Jamaican models with the best agencies in the world, including those in Paris, New York, London, Milan, South Africa and Singapore.
