The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) yesterday expressed positive views on the Government's post-Cabinet retreat press briefing to update the nation on the details coming out of the three-day meeting.

In a release, the PSOJ said it believed both the prime minister's and the minister of finance's comments brought some amount of clarity to a range of issues, including some new details of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) agreement and the Cabinet's full support for the elements of fiscal consolidation to be undertaken.

"The organisation is encouraged by the promised regular briefings on the IMF discussions, as well as further ongoing presentations of the Government's growth and development plans for 2013 and beyond," the PSOJ said.

The PSOJ said it was also pleased with the prime minister's acknowledgement that the IMF agreement alone would not solve the country's problems.
