Students charged with 15-y-o's murder

The two students who were involved in a stabbing incident at the Institute of Academic Excellence on Half-Way Tree Road in St Andrew, which left one teen dead and another injured on Tuesday are to answer charges of murder and attempted murder.

Senior Superintendent of Police Fitz Bailey, head of the St Andrew Central Police Division, told The Gleaner yesterday that the 16-year-olds were charged on Wednesday night.

Dead is 15-year-old Euric Brown, a fourth-form student of a Kingston address.

Two injured

According to the Constabulary Communication Network, four students were involved in an altercation which left two injured. Brown succumbed to his injuries while another student was hospitalised in stable condition.

The other two students who were responsible for the attack were subsequently arrested and taken to the Half-Way Tree Police Station.

Bailey said the students are to appear in court on Monday.
