 FLORIDA (CMC):

The United States Coast Guard says the cutter, Confidence, had seized an estimated US$25 millions in drugs during a 56-day deployment in the southern Caribbean.

It said the 210-foot cutter had seized 1,085 kilogrammes of cocaine during its counter-drug law enforcement patrol under the Joint Interagency Task Force South.

"As a result of the crew's performance and mission flexibility, the Coast Guard maximised presence in critical illicit trafficking vectors," the Coast Guard said in a statement.

The statement said that Confidence worked alongside another cutter in successfully disrupting the illegal drugs trade.
