Below is a statement from the board of governors of Titchfield High School, Portland.

THE BOARD of governors of Titchfield High School wishes to state that it has become aware of several unsavoury allegations circulating regarding the operations and management of the school.

Having fully investigated these, the board wishes to state categorically that they have found these various allegations to be spurious and totally unfounded.

The existing operational processes are such that the board can state with assurance that funds are used in a responsible manner and existing checks and balances protect against any likelihood of abuse.

Further, the board wishes to state its unequivocal confidence in the principal Mr Richard Thompson, who has brought unquestioned integrity and diligence to the role of principal.

The board anticipates that this statement directed to the stakeholders of Titchfield - its teachers, various past students associations and parents - will bring an end to these unwarranted and ongoing allegations immediately.

Virtute et eruditione is still the motto and guide of Titchfield High School.
