Tivoli, CablePro clash in netball feature

Tivoli Gardens 'A' and CablePro will clash in today's feature game of the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) Sunshine Open League at the Leila Robinson courts starting at 6:20 p.m.

In the day's other games playing simultaneously, University of the West Indies (UWI) Pelicans 'A' will take on Global United 'A' and Mico 'A' challenge G.C. Foster Strikers 'A'.

The Sylvester Campbell-coached Tivoli, who last won the title in 2008, are currently fourth in the Elite Group standings with nine points. Unbeaten Waulgrovians 'A' lead the group with 13 points.

Former national player Kasey Evering, Cleopatra Grant, Tamara Hylton and Peter-Gay Thomas are expected to lead Tivoli's charge. CablePro, whose record stands at one win and four defeats, are seventh in the group with three points. They will look to national representative Ann-Kay Griffiths, Tracey-Ann Robinson, along with Deneen Taylor to lead them to an upset victory.

THE OPENING GAMES

In the day's opening games at 1 p.m. it will be Top Mountain Flames vs Department of Correction, UTech Knights vs Alexanders Strikers, Upper Camp vs Hagley Park and Rivoli 'B' vs Jetsetters 'A'.

1:40 p.m: Genesis vs Edna Manley Strikers, Pembroke Hall 'B' vs Hellshire United, Tivoli 'B' vs Maxfield, Liguanea B vs Police 'A'.

2:20 p.m: Omega vs Molynes United 'A', Braeton United vs Jobs Lane United 'A', Boulevard Baptist vs Spanish Town, Greenwich 'B' vs Maxfield A.

3:00 p.m: Speg 'A' vs UWI Pelicans 'B', New Kingston Raiders vs Molynes United 'B', Spanish Town 'B' vs Rivoli United 'A', Payne Land vs Tantrum.

3:40 p.m: Top Mountain Flames vs Hagley Park, UTech Knights vs Rivoli United 'B', Greenwich Town 'B' vs Upper Camp, Alexander Striker vs Department of Correctional Services.

4:40 p.m: Police 'A' vs Ebony Strikers, Maxfield 'B' vs Liguanea United 'B', Genesis vs Pembroke Hall, Tivoli 'B' vs Edna Manley Strikers.

5:00 p.m: Boulevard Baptist vs Jobs Lane United 'A', Greenwich Town 'B' vs Braeton United, Pembroke Hall 'A' vs Maxfield Park 'B.

Thursday's results: Police 'A' hammered Edna Manley Strikers 39-5, Rivoli United 'A' beat Blades United 'B' 18-16, Jetsetters 'A' whipped Hagley Park 30-12, Jobs Lane United 'A' beat Spanish Town Strikers 'A' 19-15, Boulevard Baptist defeated Braeton United 24-7.
