Two-time finalists Manchester High will host defending champions St Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) in one semi-final of the Grace/ISSA rural Limited overs competition today in Mandeville. Starting time is 10:30 a.m. in what will be a 35-over affair.
The other semi-finalists are yet to be decided as the quarter-final game between Port Antonio and York Castle is yet to be played. Last year's beaten finalists, Vere Technical, are already confirmed to play the winner of that outstanding game. Vere completed a 105-run win over Tacky in their quarter-final in Vernam Field. Batting first, Vere posted 243 with a top score of 54 coming from Ranjay Christie. Tacky could only muster 138 for eight off their allocated 35 overs.
Manchester High, which hosted Munro, were just as convincing, easily chasing down the 131-run target. Christopher Powell scored 56, while captain Oshane Walters finished unbeaten with 37. Earlier, spinner Nicolas Walters (four wickets for five runs) and 15-year-old Davian Walker (three for 25) undermined the Munro batting, limiting them to just 25 overs.
